SPACEAND (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy is prepared in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea (“PIPA”) and explains how we collect, use, store, process, and disclose your information when you use our platform StayLocal and related services.

 
 

1. Information We Collect

 1) Account Registration

     Information provided by

    • Host: Name, email address, password, mobile phone number

    • Guest: Name, email address, password

 2) Reservation & Payment Processing

     Information provided by 

    • Guest: Name, address, email address, contact information, basic payment method details

    • PG companies: Payment approval or failure status, transaction identifiers (such as approval numbers or transaction IDs), payment time and status, and refund results or related information. 

 3) Automatically Collected Information

    • Access logs, IP address, device identifiers, reservation and payment history

    • Cookies, analytics tools, and similar tracking technologies (see “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” section)

       Required information is necessary for service provision and legal compliance. Optional information is collected only with consent and may 

       enhance user experience.

 

2. Methods of Collection 

    • Direct input via sign-up, reservation, and payment forms

    • Information provided by payment service providers (PG companies)

    • Automatically generated system logs and tracking technology

 

3. Purposes of Use

 1) Service Provision

    • Reservation management and confirmation

    • Payment processing, refunds, and billing

    • Customer support and dispute resolution

    • Prevention of fraudulent or unauthorized activities

    • Service quality improvement (e.g., enhancing platform features through analysis of user behavior patterns)

 2) Legal Compliance

    • Compliance with tax, accounting, and e-commerce regulations

    • Compliance with immigration and guest identification obligations, where applicable

    • Responding to lawful requests from regulatory authorities

 

4. Retention and Deletion of Personal Information

Personal information is retained and used only for the minimum period required by law:    

    • Records related to contracts and payments: 5 years

    • Records related to consumer complaints and disputes: 3 years

    • Access logs: 3 months, per Telecommunications Business Act

After the retention period ends, information is securely deleted using irreversible methods.
Users may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing at any time, and such requests will be processed promptly to the extent permitted by law.

 

5. Provision of Guest Information to Hosts

To facilitate the reservation and provide accommodation services, StayLocal shares limited personal information of Guests with Hosts who offer listings on the platform. Hosts are independently responsible for complying with relevant privacy and data protection regulations, and StayLocal does not control the retention practices of individual Hosts.

 1) Information provided to hosts.

    • Name, email address, reservation details (dates, number of guests etc.)

 2) Purpose:

    • Reservation management and confirmation

    • Communication required for check-in, check-out, and stay-related matters

    • Fulfillment of the accommodation service requested by the Guest

 3) Scope: Minimum data required to fulfill the purpose

 4) Retention: Until the completion of the delegated purpose or as required by law

 

6. Provision & Entrustment to Third Parties

We provide personal information to third parties or entrust them with processing activities only when necessary for operational purposes or

legal obligations.

 1) Recipients may include:

    • Payment processors

    • Marketing or communication service providers

    • Review or user feedback platforms

 2) Purpose:

    • Payment processing

    • Delivering service notifications or, where users have provided consent, marketing communications

    • Reviewing and publishing service feedback

 3) Scope: Minimum data required to fulfill the purpose.

 4) Retention: Until the completion of the delegated purpose or as required by law.

     Any third-party disclosure is conducted with user consent unless otherwise permitted by law.

 

7. International Data Transfers

Your personal information is stored and processed on servers operated by Hostinger International Ltd., which may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions where Hostinger operates data centers. The transfer is conducted for the purpose of service operation, data storage, and security. The information is retained for the duration of your account unless a longer period is required by law.

 

8. User Rights

Users may exercise the following rights at any time:

    • Request access to personal information

    • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data

    • Request deletion, except where restricted by law

    • Withdraw consent to optional data processing or marketing

Requests can be made via info@staylocal.kr, and will be processed without undue delay.

 

9. International User Rights

In all cases, StayLocal processes personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of the Republic of Korea as the primary applicable law, while additional rights under foreign laws may apply depending on the user’s jurisdiction.

    • Users in the European Union (EU): To the extent the GDPR applies, users may exercise rights such as withdrawal of consent, access, correction, or deletion of personal data.

    • Users in California (USA): Where applicable under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), users may request access to or deletion of personal information, and may opt out of certain types of data sharing.

These rights may differ from those provided under PIPA.

 

10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We may use essential cookies required for the operation of the service, such as maintaining login sessions or enabling basic site functionality. If additional cookies or similar tracking technologies (e.g., analytics or advertising cookies) are introduced in the future, we will notify users in advance and update this Policy accordingly.

  

11. Consent Recording

We maintain records of user consent, including IP address, timestamp, and version of the relevant terms or policies. These records may be used to verify valid consent in the event of a dispute.

 

12. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in services or laws.
Material changes will be notified at least 7 days in advance on our website. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
